Day 3: Sign up for Google Analytics and Search Console

Google Analytics is a web analytics service that lets the website owners analyze the traffic on their website. It is a service that lets you get an insight into what are your website statistics. This service has two versions-
1. Google Analytics 360, that is mainly used by enterprises
2. Google Analytics for Mobile Apps, that is an SDK (Software development kit) which gathers data from Android an IOS apps.

Analytics has many useful features for the enterprises, like:
1. E-commerce Tracking: If you have an e-commerce website, you will want to know how much money is your website or business making or where are your most profitable customers coming from? Once you know where do you get your maximum traffic from, you can work on ways to attract more users.

2. Goals: Goals can be defined as a measure of people will complete the specific actions related to your website that you want them to do.

3. Site Search: Connect analytics to the internal site search of your website and you can know what exactly the users look for on your website. This way, you can easily get an idea what users expect from you.

4. Marketing campaigns: You can keep a track of all your marketing campaigns by Analytics. Be it Facebook, email, banner ads, you can track them all to see what is the user response to them.

5. Internal traffic is excluded: With the help of some filters, you can exclude the site traffic that is coming from your end or your team so that you can have a clear view of your site traffic.

How to sign up for Google Analytics-

1. Create a Google account and click Access Google Analytics.

2. Click sing up, and enter the required details in the window that comes.

3. Under Data Sharing Options, choose the check boxes that you want.

5. Click I Accept on the terms and conditions that come up.

6. Add tracking Id before the </head> tag in the HTML of your website.

Google Search Console is a free service by Google that helps you in monitoring the presence of your website over the web and Google search results. You can use it to find how many people visit your website, how much do they like your site, you have more users from mobile devices or desktop devices and which of your site page is most visited by people. You can also find out the errors on your site and submit the sitemap.

Some important features of Search Console are:

1. HTML improvements: This feature helps in identifying your SEO related issues hence improving your SERP presence. You can get to know if there is any missing metadata, duplicate content, etc on your website. Google search console

2. Crawl errors: If there is any issue or error regarding the crawling of your website by the google bots, it is notified in this section. If an url could not be crawled successfully, it is shown as HTTP error code.

3. Search analytics: It helps in telling you about how to get organic traffic from Google to your site. You can also filter data in many ways like pages, queries, devices, etc. The Queries section helps in giving the best organic keywords based on the products or services offered by your website.

4. Fetch as Google: This tool ensures that your web pages are search engine friendly. It helps in communicating with the google bots and in finding out if the page can be indexed or not.

5. Sitemaps & robots.txt tester: You can easily test your sitemap that has to be crawled by Google bots. Robots.txt file tells these bots what pages need to be crawled and what not.

How to sign up for Google Search Console-

1. Create a Google account and click Access Google Webmasters.
